Times:
This is not just a men’s event or a women’s event, it is a WHOLE FAMILY EVENT. We are planning this for Wood’s Canyon Lake (on the Rim, NE of Payson). I’ve already challenged Tina Franchimone to a biggest fish caught between the two of us (Friday through Saturday night), the loosing side has to serve lunch to the winning side. Sam has told me I made a mistake as Tina’s quite a fisherwomen. We are also planning games & fishing contests for kids. Join us and we’ll see.
This is the hardest event of the year to plan because of numbers. We hope to have the group camping site. Even then, we risk the campground having it’s sites already reserved so we may have to make adjustments.
Wood’s Canyon Lake has a store which carries many camping basics and boat rentals. If you are fishing, you’ll need an Arizona license with a Trout Stamp. Our desire is that families and even extended families will participate.
There are NO hook up campsites but some campsites have room for several cars or an RV and with up to 6 or 8 people. Food arrangements: we’ll have a communal cooking area (large grill) and we’re thinking if families could bring hash browns, bacon and eggs for breakfast and then hot dogs and hamburgers for lunch we could gather round the communal grill. Dinners we haven’t planned out, but the communal grill will still be available. Of course if you want to be by yourself... Cost: tba. I’ve asked Tina to lead us in a lesson for our Sunday morning service.
